My pursuit of bodybuilding has taken me from the beaches of the Jersey Shore all the way to the sands of Venice Beach and back. As a teenager working a part time job at a local gym in Bradley Beach, NJ, I could have never imagined the extent to which my potential would be realized or the lengths to which my success would reach. In those days, I was often told I had been gifted with a physique destined for bodybuilding, but like most other kids my age, I tended to focus on the more traditional sports like basketball and track and field. It wasn't until I entered and won my first teen show that I began to realize that maybe everyone was right about me.
At the age of 21, looking for a change of pace after a painful breakup and figuring I had nothing to lose, I packed up my belongings and set out for the West Coast in search of new beginnings. As luck would have it, I quickly made friends and ended up scoring an apartment that just so happened to be within walking distance of the famed Gold's Gym of Venice Beach. The rest, as they say, was history.
Over the course of my bodybuilding career, I have been met with just as many obstacles and challenges as the next person. For every triumph you have witnessed on my social media pages, there have been probably 100 setbacks you haven't seen behind the scenes. After turning pro at just 25 years old, it seemed like I had nowhere left to go but up...until I suffered a major pec tear right before my first pro show. But like anything else in life: when you are knocked down, you must get back up. I've taken some time off from competing to explore my options and I am proud and excited to say that now I'm back to share my insights, lessons, and skills with all of you. I look forward to strengthening the fabric of this bodybuilding community by investing in the development and progress of many new athletes to come. Now I ask you, who's ready to step up and achieve their personal best?
